Looking up random facts will increase your knowledge about many many different things. Not only will it increase your knowledge, but also increase topics to talk about.
For example, if you are really at a loss of what to talk to someone about you could bring up a random fact that you had read to start a conversation. Such as "Did you know that the first couple to ever be shown in bed together was the Flinstones?"Not only will you be able to be able to start conversations, but you will also be able to carry them on with other facts that you have learned.
I also find that reading these facts brings me happiness, because they are so random and sometimes funny. Because these make me happy it will put me in a better mood to do what I have been procrastinating when I finally decide to do it.
So instead of studying for a test, why not look up random facts?
